Plan ahead for New Year's Eve CBD celebration bus diversions
On New Year's Eve in Sydney, there will be multiple road closures and buses will be diverting around the celebrations. In North Shore and West region:
- Buses will be diverting while roads are closed in the Sydney CBD from 4am and in North Sydney from 2pm.
- 254 & 291 terminate at North Sydney starting from 7pm, 30 December.
- Wynyard services will be departing from North Sydney between 11pm to 1:30am.
- Park Street and Druitt Street services will be departing from QVB between 5pm to 4am.

Due to the Mamre Rd upgrade, Banks Dr, St Clair will be closed from:
20:00 Friday 20 March until 05:00 Monday 23 March 2026
Buses will divert via Banks Drive, Cook Parade and solander Drive in both directions

Wauchope School Buses - Service Changes
From 27 January 2026, timetable and route path changes will take effect on some school bus services to Wauchope schools, and the S402 service will be discontinued. Route service 336 will also undergo a minor timetable change. These changes are part of a simplification of the bus network and will affect the following schools:

- Wauchope Public School
- Huntingdon Public School
- St Joseph’s Regional College
- Heritage Christian School

North-Western Sydney school bus service changes
From 27 January 2026, some school bus services in North-Western Sydney will change. These changes support the new access road to Cumberland High School. TfNSW has reviewed and approved the updates following Ride and Site Checks.
- Cumberland High School – updated routes, new stop, amended morning and afternoon schedules
- James Ruse High School – amended morning and afternoon routes.

Cumberland High School
New services
- 611w Cumberland High School to Carlingford Light Rail Station, departing at 15:05. This replaces the current 550 to Parramatta, currently departing at 15:10
Amended morning services
- 618w from West Ryde will operate directly via Evans Road, not via Shortland Street and Marshall Road
- Route 513 will continue to operate via Shortland Street and Marshall Road
- Route 717w from Parramatta will operate only 1 trip at 8:07am rather than the current 2 trips at 7:57am and 8:17am. Students will be set down on Pennant Hills Road
Amended afternoon services
- All buses departing school will use the Dunmore Street and Baker Street
- 546 to Parramatta will be re-numbered to 717w and will operate via Carlingford Light Rail Station
- 550 to Parramatta at 15:15 will operate via Carlingford Light Rail Station
- 616w to Eastwood will depart 5 minutes later at 15:20
- 617w to Rydalmere will have a first set down restriction. First set down will be Faith Church on Evans Road, Dundas Valley. First departure will leave 3 minutes later at 15:08
- 618w to West Ryde will operate directly via Evans Road, not via Marshall Road and Shortland Street
- Route 513 will continue to serve Marshall Road and Shortland Street
- 720w to Parramatta will no longer operate via Cumberland High School
James Ruse High School
Amended morning services
- Route 618w from West Ryde will operate directly via Evans Road, not via Shortland Street and Marshall Road
- Route 513 will continue to operate via Shortland Street and Marshall Road
- Route 717w from Parramatta via Oatlands will operate only 1 trip at 8:07am rather than the current 2 trips at 7:57am and 8:17am
Amended afternoon services
- Route 616w to Eastwood will depart 5 minutes later than currently
- Route 546 and 550 from Cumberland High School to Parramatta will no longer travel past James Ruse High School due to the new road configuration at Cumberland High School
Sydney Lower North Shore school bus service changes
From 27 January 2026, some school bus services in the Lower North Shore will change due to the closure of St Phillip Nori Primary School at the end of 2025, with students moving to St Thomas Catholic Primary School. TfNSW has reviewed and approved these service changes following ride and site checks. Affected schools are:
- St Thomas & St Philip Neri – bus services adjusted due to school relocation
- Northbridge Public School – amended departure times and route changes
- Glenaeon Rudolf Steiner Junior School – 637w departs earlier to improve travel
- Glenaeon Rudolf Steiner Senior School – 637w departs earlier to improve travel
- Willoughby Girls High School – earlier 758w departures; 701w discontinued.

Northbridge Public School
- 700w from Willoughby Girls High School at 08:15 will depart later at 08:42, arriving at Northbridge Public School at 09:02
- 637w to Northbridge and Castlecrag at 15:23 will depart 8 minutes earlier at 15:15
- 637w will no longer run via High Street and McClelland Street in Willoughby
- 701w will no longer operate. Students can continue to use 637w to the Northbridge area
Glenaeon Rudolf Steiner Junior School
- 637w will pick up earlier, at 15:28 instead of 15:36
Glenaeon Rudolf Steiner Senior School
- 637w will pick up earlier, at 15:42 instead of 15:51
Willoughby Girls High School
- 758w will pick up earlier on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday
- Current pick up 15:43, new pick up at 15:25
- 701w to Crows Nest and Lane Cove will no longer operate. Students can catch Route 751w to Crows Nest, and Route 760w to Lane Cove

School bus service changes - Coffs Harbour
From 8 December 2025, some Busways-operated school bus services and route services in Coffs Harbour will be changed. These changes will improve service reliability and aim to ensure students arrive at school on time.
Several routes will start earlier, and two services (S197, S244) have been withdrawn, with alternative services available.
