Busways first in world to order Custom Denning electric buses
Busways is the first bus operator worldwide to purchase new electric buses from NSW bus manufacturer Custom Denning.
The first locally manufactured electric buses will roll out in Western Sydney - Busways' operating region - later this year, as the NSW Government charges ahead with its plan to electrify the bus fleet by 2030.
"As an Australian bus operator, we are proud to be the first to order the Element electric bus, with six of these Aussie-built buses to soon be on the roads, transporting our customers in Western Sydney,” Busways Managing Director Byron Rowe said.
Due to road works along Gordon Street (Eastbound Lane Only) between Hastings River Drive and Horton Street buses will be diverted along Buller Street and William Street and miss two stops from Monday 7 June until Friday 11 June 2021 between 6pm and 6am (Night Work ONLY)

Put your safety first!
With many preventable incidents occurring on buses each year, the Grip for the Trip campaign looks to decrease the number of incidents by raising awareness among passengers about the small things they can do when travelling by bus to improve their own personal safety.
We are encouraging everyone to act for their safety when travelling by bus, through our Grip for the Trip passenger safety campaign.
Many of these can be prevented, just by passengers holding on! By simply holding on to a railing, hand strap or seat back while the bus is in motion, you can reduce your chances of slips, falls and oopsies, should the bus driver need to brake suddenly.
Buses move constantly, so being mindful of a few simple steps can help prevent incidents.
