Digital timetables and real-time bus information comes to Coffs Harbour

Transport Connected Bus Program

If you are travelling by bus in our Coffs Harbour network or in Bega and Dubbo, you can now plan your trip using digital timetable information and make informed travel decisions with real-time updates.

You can now plan your trip by:

State-of-the-art vehicle tracking and automatic passenger counting technology is now on 300 buses across these three regional areas, allowing you to access timetables and get real-time trip updates on the Trip Planner, Opal Travel App and other third-party transport apps.

The smart technology captures and shares real-time information about the bus including its location, estimated departure time at a stop and occupancy to give an indication of how many people are already on board the bus.

The technology allows you to see exactly how far away your bus is before you start your trip, and if you are a parent, you will be able to check the progress of your child's school bus. You will also be able to get information on how full the services are, and about any delays or planned service changes in real-time.

When travelling in regional NSW you can view reliable timetable information and real-time updates using a range of easy-to-use apps and online tools that work with phones, tablets, smart devices and even voice assistant technology.

Future phases of the Transport Connected Bus program should see this innovative technology being rolled out to over 3000 buses all across regional NSW.
