Busways has begun operating Transport for NSW’s new WSI Link, a free, all-electric shuttle connecting St Marys Station with Western Sydney International Airport.

The service launched on Sunday 25 October as Sydney’s newest airport opened its runways to its first international flights. The launch boosts the electric fleet at Busways’ Penrith depot, which is now halfway through its electrification transition.

Busways Director of Service Delivery Sydney Metro, Jason Roberts, said the team’s focus was on delivering a simple and dependable connection for customers.

“Whether someone is travelling to the airport, heading to work or arriving in Sydney for the first time, they need a straightforward connection to the wider transport network,” Mr Roberts said.

“Our Penrith team has been working closely with Transport for NSW to prepare the service allowing travellers with easy transport connection to the new airport.”

Running every 30 minutes from early morning until late at night, the wheelchair accessible fleet features luggage storage space and links travellers and airport workers with Sydney’s wider rail network.

WSI Link complements Transport for NSW’s airport routes 772 and 790, also operated by Busways, and will run until the Sydney Metro Western Sydney Airport line opens.
