Using Adelaide Metro services is simple. You can follow these easy steps from the Adelaide Metro website, to ensure a safe and enjoyable journey.  

Tickets and fares

metroCARD

metroCARD is the smartcard ticketing system used to pay for travel on public transport in Adelaide. Visit Adelaide Metro’s website for more information on getting and managing your metroCARD.

MetroTicket

If you don’t have a metroCARD or use public transport infrequently, you can purchase the following tickets using exact change (or close to) from the driver on board:

  • Singletrip tickets (valid for 2 hours)
  • Daytrip tickets (valid all day on the day of validation, until 4am next morning)

We operate bus services in the Adelaide Metro Outer South bus region. The network covers 8.6 million kilometres per year from two depots - Lonsdale and Seaford.

Coffs Harbour gets on board with real-time tracking

Busways' Regional Operations Manager Mark Lawrence joined Minister for Regional Transport and Roads Paul Toole and Coffs Harbour MP Gurmesh Singh in Coffs Harbour on 26 July to announce the first phase of the Transport Connected Bus program, a significant investment in regional transport operations.

Coffs Harbour will be one of the first regional centres in the State where customers can track the arrival of their bus and get an indication of available seating in real time.

Busways' Customer Service Officer named Trainee of the Year

One of Busways’ Customer Service Officer’s Renee Rizzardo has been named Trainee of the Year for Central & Northern Sydney Region in the NSW Training Awards 2020.

Renee is the Sydney Trainee of the Year for the Certificate III in Customer Engagement and is now the winner across all Certificate course categories in the region. 

An incredible achievement, Renee said it wouldn’t have been possible without the support from her mentors at Busways.
