Investing in women grows the female workforce at Busways

On this International Women's Day (IWD), we extend our thanks to the remarkable female workforce within Busways which grew by 11 percent last year.

The 2024 IWD theme "Count Her In: Invest in Women, Accelerate Progress" aligns with our commitment to empowering women across diverse roles within our organisation. Currently, over 300 women contribute to crucial positions, ranging from bus drivers to workshop personnel, administrative, technical, and leadership roles, all contributing significantly to our success.

783: Castlereagh Road, Penrith diversion

Due to the Redline Games Triathalon Penrith event a diversion will be in place. Castlereagh Road will be closed to all traffic between Andrews Road, Castlereagh and Waterside Boulevard, Cranebrook from:

  • 6am until 1:00pm Sunday 7 April 2024

Seniors Week - Free Travel Training at Lane Cove

If you are new to using the bus network or would like to build your confidence travelling by bus, join our free and friendly seniors travel training session on Wednesday 13 March at Lane Cove Library.

Hosted in collaboration with Lane Cove City Council as part of the Lane Cove Seniors Festival, the session aims to help seniors gain confidence in using public transport.

78: Warnervale Rd, Warnervale diversion

Due to the closure of the level crossing at Warnervale Road Warnervale, a diversion will be in place and bus stops missed from:

  • 06:00 Saturday 9 until 17:00 Sunday 10 March 2024

​The diversion will operate between Warnervale Road and Sparks Road via Minnesota Road (as Virginia Road is closed) to Porters Creek Public School in both directions.

​A shuttle bus will operate to cover the missed section of the route along Sparks Road and Albert Warner Drive and connect with route 78 at Warnervale Rd opp Porters Creek Public School.

GECA has applauded Busways for impressive environmental gains through new sustainable cleaning practices implemented at 19 Busways sites in New South Wales and South Australia.

Busways uses GECA Certified non toxic cleaning products

Busways began using GECA certified products for washing buses, depot cleaning and employee hand hygiene 13 months ago.
