Real world planning supports new timetable in North Shore and West

Publish Start Date

Turning network planning into reliable day-to-day operations takes more than a timetable.

Across all our operating regions, Busways works closely with transport authorities to help shape, test and implement timetable and network changes that can perform in real-world operating conditions - balancing customer outcomes, operational efficiency and network reliability.

Using operational data, scheduling expertise and local network insight, our scheduling team reviews proposed changes against factors such as congestion, run times, layovers and service recovery points. Small adjustments can make a significant difference to reliability, efficiency and day-to-day customer experience once services are in operation. That work is supported by our operations, service delivery and maintenance teams, helping ensure drivers, depots and fleet are ready for implementation.

That work is now supporting the next phase of improvements across the North Shore and West bus network (Greater Sydney Bus Contract 7 region).

New service changes commencing 21 June 2026 include multiple route adjustments, the introduction of new bendy buses to support growing demand across the region, and the return of route 52 from Parramatta to the City recently announced by NSW Transport Minister, John Graham.
