Residents across Wyong will be greeted with extra Christmas joy this year, thanks to Lake Munmorah Public School students who helped decorate Busways Christmas bus for locals to enjoy.

Students from Kindergarten to Year 6 brought the bus to life, taking turns adding decorations and transforming it into a festive, Christmas-ready bus. With carols playing through the speakers and bursts of excited chatter, students hung handmade ornaments, placed colourful sticker decals on the windows, and proudly displayed their Christmas colouring sheets.

Teachers said the project was a meaningful way for students to connect with the wider community.

“Designing the Christmas artwork sparked wonderful creativity and teamwork. Students were proud knowing their designs would brighten the wider community,” said Mrs Ne’Roi.
Miss Zalasinski added that the activity “filled our classroom with Christmas cheer” before the children brought their designs onboard the bus.

The students’ excitement grew as each group contributed their decorations.
“My favourite part was decorating the bus with my friends. Seeing our artwork on the windows made me feel proud and really got me into the Christmas spirit,” said Myla, Year 5.
Year 5 student Areyana loved helping with the window decals because “the bus windows looked so cool after.”

Younger students were just as enthusiastic, with ES1 competition winner Alfie sharing:
“It felt really cool to see my picture in the Christmas bus.”

Thank you to Lake Munmorah Public School and the wider community for supporting our Christmas buses and helping spread festive cheer across the Coast this year.

Merry Christmas to all.
