Adelaide Metro Ticketing

You can now use the full range of convenient tap and ride options across the whole Adelaide Metro network, with Tap and Pay, Buy & Go and metroCARD now accepted on trains, buses and trams.

Tap and ride your way

Choosing the convenient ticketing option that is right for you is now even easier.

You can:

  • use your debit/credit bank card or digital wallet to Tap and Pay on board for a Regular peak or off-peak fare.
  • download the free Buy & Go app from the App Store or Google Play Store for the full range of tickets and passes on your smart phone.
  • buy and recharge a metroCARD online, at Adelaide Metro InfoCentre or from over 270 locations across SA.
  • continue using your SA Seniors Card for free travel at all times.

Tap to transfer between vehicles

Now that all vehicles accept the same tap and ride ticketing options, you can seamlessly transfer between trains, buses and trams across the Adelaide Metro network.

Just remember to always:

  • separate the payment option you wish to use from other cards or smart devices before you tap it on any validator.
  • use the same metroCARD, bank card or smart device you first used to validate your ticket every time you tap to transfer, or at the Adelaide Railway Station gates.

Goodbye paper MetroTicket

Now that seamless ticketing across the network is here, we have removed paper tickets. You will no longer be able to buy or use paper MetroTickets on Adelaide Metro services.

If you have unused MetroTickets, you can take them to the Adelaide Metro InfoCentre to have the value transferred to a new or existing metroCARD. New metroCARDs will attract a once-off fee of $3.50 for Concession and Student metroCARDs and $5.00 for a Regular metroCARD.

For more information, contact Adelaide Metro from 7:00 am to 8:00 pm daily by calling the Adelaide Metro InfoLine on 1300 311 108 or visiting Adelaide Metro InfoCentre at the Adelaide Railway Station.
