Celebrating the 5 Lands Walk together in 2020

This year as proud sponsors we’re celebrating the iconic Central Coast NSW 5 Lands Walk differently.

While the walk itself is not going ahead due to coronavirus, 5 Lands Walk organisers are going online to celebrate the  opening ceremony that is held each year to mark and recognise the Winter solstice - an important date in most cultures and for the Darkinjung people.

The opening ceremony will be showcased on Youtube from 8pm Friday, 19 June with the premier of the feature film “Home – a place of belonging”.

“Home – a place of belonging”, composed and directed by Yantra De Vilder, is a story of the message stick as it travels from the sacred lands of Yengo and Kincumber Mountains through the coastal villages of the 5 Lands: Macmasters Beach, Copacabana, Avoca Beach, North Avoca and Terrigal, on the Central Coast of NSW.

Busways has sponsored the event for over five years, providing the free shuttle bus services that support local communities and help participants of all abilities enjoy the walk as they travel between each of the 5 Lands.

Connecting people to people and people to place, Busways has helped participants to experience what each of the 5 lands have to offer.

Join us and mark 8pm, Friday 19 June in your calendar to enjoy the opening ceremony.
