Spray Painter - Blacktown

The Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing company and a friendly team environment. You will be given the opportunity to grow, develop and to take on additional responsibility.

You will be provided with all necessary training on the various makes and models of buses as well as being supplied with uniforms, boots and all the necessary safety equipment.

The Job

Reporting to the Workshop Supervisor, this role requires you to have a mature and professional approach with excellent communication skills. Your main duties/responsibilities will include but is not limited to;

  1. Undertaking the preparation and cleaning of all surfaces prior to any paint application taking place. This may include filing, grinding and sanding the body of a vehicle to restore a smooth vehicle surface.
  2. Ensuring the maintenance of all spray painting equipment and tools provided by the Company
  3. Demonstrating and  maintaining clean workshop practices in your day to day role and ensuring that these practices meet the high standards held by the Workshops team
  4. Removing, repairing and replacing the allocated panels that are damaged
  5. Ensuring that all maintenance and repairs are performed according to company procedures and are recorded on the designated forms and documents provided
  6. Maintaining and performing all workshop practices in a manner that adheres to all Workplace Health and Safety regulations
  7. Maintaining and performing within the role in a manner that adheres to all Company policies and procedures

The Successful Applicant should have:

  • A current MVRIA license
  • A trade qualification as a spray painter
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Automotive or industrial equipment painting experience
  • The ability to differentiate between colours as well as balancing and layering colours

Desirable Experience:

  • +/- 5 years Heavy Vehicle (Bus/Truck) experience
  • MR license
