Busways Turns Orange for SES Volunteers on WOW Day

12 Nov 2013
Busways is acknowledging the hard work of our State Emergency Service (SES) volunteers by turning orange on November 13th for Wear Orange Wednesday (WOW Day).
Busways is supporting the event by encouraging bus drivers and the public to wear orange on the day, in honour of the colour worn by SES volunteers. SES mascot, Paddy the Platypus will also be making an appearance at the Busways Mulgrave Depot to raise more awareness for the event.
A number of activities held throughout NSW will mark the occasion with some state landmarks being transformed into orange icons in line with the colourful theme. People are also invited to take part in a televised launch and aerial photoshoot on Wednesday 13th November at Bondi beach which will play host to a giant human spelling of ‘WOW’.
Skye Lever, a SES volunteer and bus driver at the Busways Mulgrave Depot, thinks WOW Day is a great initiative. “It’s a fun and simple way to recognise the outstanding work conducted by our SES volunteers who have provided much needed assistance to the communities throughout Australia.”
